Zig Zag Shoes
Zig Zag shoes have a long and rich history dating back to the 1940's. These shoes were first manufactured by a company called the Gold Seal Rubber company. These shoes were first worn by roofers, so at the time, everyone would refer to these shoes as "Roofer" shoes. It didn't take long for these shoes to gain in popularity mainly due to their lightweight, breathable construction and level of comfort.
Later in the 1950's, these shoes really began to take off. They were no longer just for roofers as everyone began to wear these shoes because of their fine qualities and affordable price. As more and more people began to wear these shoes the company decided that it would be a good idea to stop referring to them as Roofer shoes and start calling them Winos.
In the 1970's, a shoe company out of Brooklyn begins manufacturing Winos, which then soon lead to the name that they go by today, Zig Zags.
